Collaborative learning builds effective teams. From job planning to after-action review, CM Labs’ cooperative Signalperson Training Station allows novice operators to train together to develop effective teamwork and communications.
The only solution of its kind, CM Labs’ Signalperson Training Station not only reduces training costs by letting team members train simultaneously — it also makes it possible for you to train operators in unique ways that are too risky or expensive to replicate in real life.
Embedding the signalperson in a working simulation increases trainee engagement and motivation, making this the most effective platform for them to learn:
Correct signaller positioning
Proper load trajectory
Proper hand signal delivery
Safe direction of lift operations
Train to Worksite Standards — in the Classroom
With the Signalperson Training Station, trainees learn critical worksite skills such as communication and teamwork, in a safe environment. The Signalperson Training Station is designed to work with CM Labs’ crane Training Packs, including Luffing Tower Crane, Flat-top Tower Crane, Crawler Crane, and Mobile Crane. While one trainee operates a crane on the Vortex simulator, another works cooperatively within the virtual jobsite, providing signals and guiding the operation through to successful completion via webcam and picture-in-picture display.
Trainees can move around the worksite to inspect the lifting area, recognize potential hazards, gain a clear view of activities, and provide hand signals to the crane operator.
Together, they either fail as a team — or succeed as a team. The result: new operators that are simply better prepared for any jobsite.
Time and again, organisations worldwide are seeing the results: Operators trained on Vortex simulators build the real-world skills they need to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Scalable to every training need and budget, Vortex simulators represent the widest range of training solutions available today. Watch this video to learn more about the Vortex Advantage, our fully immersive operator training solution.
When the Operating Engineers Training Institute of Ontario (OETIO) modernized their training classrooms with next-generation Vortex simulators and instructor stations for operator training, the benefits ranged from faster practical training time to increased trainee engagement and more.
Watch the video below shows the full story of OETIO’s success with Vortex simulators.
