May 7, 2017 – Well-trained operators have a number of attributes. They know what to do when they are tasked with a challenging lift, and they’ve had time on the ground and with other operators. They know the timing of the control movements and have developed muscle memory to make them efficient with their job skills.
Good operators also know their abilities and limits, especially when making a lift for the first time, and they can anticipate and react to events before there is an issue.
Simulators can help operators develop this knowledge quickly and safely — particularly if training organisations follow some simple tips for using them.
