Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a construction trade association representing more than 23,000 merit shop contractors and affiliated firms, with 65+ chapters throughout the United States. The ABC New Jersey Chapter, like ABC’s many other chapters, is laser-focused on addressing the skills gap that’s afflicting the industry today. To bridge that gap, it’s taking innovation on the road with a Mobile Training Center from CM Labs. Equipped with two simulators and an instructor station, ABC’s new Mobile Training Center allows the organization to bring simulation training wherever it’s needed—including recruitment events and member locations. We sat down recently with Samantha DeAlmeida Roman, ABC New Jersey President, to get her take on how ABC New Jersey is:
- Enhancing recruitment efforts and attracting the next generation into apprenticeship programs;
- Using simulation training within apprenticeship programs; and,
- Providing added value to members by offering safe and convenient continuing education, either at ABC New Jersey’s headquarters or onsite at ABC New Jersey member locations.
