CM Labs and Trimble Partner to Showcase Innovations in Simulation Technology

As a longtime Trimble partner working on multiple innovations through the years, CM Labs has another exciting development to unveil: Offsite Drone Scan.

This brand new game-changing technology—developed in collaboration with Trimble—brings real-world Trimble drone scan data into simulated environments.

CM Labs had the opportunity to showcase this new breakthrough in simulated operator training at Trimble Dimensions 2024, where we were invited to participate at Trimble’s booth. We were thrilled to be there and give attendees the chance to try Offsite Drone Scan for the first time. They were able to dig around and interact with scanned and simulated environments, and get a sneak peek into the future of simulation training.

Exhibits and Presentations at Trimble Dimensions

From November 11 to 13, a record-breaking number of attendees gathered at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, for Trimble Dimensions 2024. The event, which featured more than 800 educational sessions as well as exhibits from nearly 100 technology suppliers, brought together industry experts from across the globe. CM Labs was honored to be among them. From our spot at Trimble’s booth, we presented our Offsite Drone Scan tech demo to everyone looking to dig into the future of training.

In addition to our presence at Trimble’s booth, Alan Limoges, CM Labs’ Manager of Product Growth & Partnerships, presented at the conference on November 11. Titled “Smarter, Faster, Safer: Using Simulation to Unlock Powerful Data Insights About Your Organization,” the session highlighted how the integration of CM Labs’ simulation technology with Trimble’s solutions benefits construction and utilities operations in measurable ways.

Offsite Drone Scan With Trimble and CM Labs

CM Labs and Trimble have collaborated on multiple projects in the past, such as bringing Trimble’s Earthworks Grade Control to add-on modules for our Dozer, Motor Grader, and Tracked Excavator Simulator Training Packs.

This time, our collaboration took simulation training to a whole new level. The new Offsite Drone Scan initiative with Trimble adds a new dimension to virtual heavy equipment operator training by creating a highly realistic replication of Trimble’s offsite excavation area within CM Labs’s simulation training systems. This allows operators to engage with real-time visual aids and precise job specifications. It also allows instructors to use real-time data during training to provide immediate feedback and a more personalized training experience to operators.
Here’s a look at what this all looks like in action:

“This collaboration with Trimble is an exciting look into the future of personalized training,” said Alan Limoges, Manager of Product Growth & Partnerships at CM Labs in a recent press release about Trimble Dimensions 2024. “By integrating real-world data from drone scans into our virtual environment, we’re leading the charge into a future where training is fully tailored to the individual.”
