Vortex Simulation Toolkit
The Vortex Simulation Toolkit is a development platform for
physically accurate modeling of ground vehicles, terrain, soil,
machines, robots, and other real-world objects.
Designed for real-time, interactive simulation, the Vortex
Simulation Toolkit strikes a balance between fidelity and speed. It
has been proven in applications including operator training, product
design and analysis, and path planning for unmanned vehicles.
The Vortex Simulation Toolkit adds accurate physical motion and
realistic interactions with all objects in a scene, creating an
interactive environment with no artificial restrictions on behavior
or interactions.

New Features in Vortex 3.0
- The new C++ API is now complete. It significantly simplifies the use of the toolkit and provides an easy way to connect to the user's graphics objects.
- New, enhanced scenegraph interface and viewer utility based on OpenSceneGraph, which is included in the distribution.
- New support for geometric collision detection and contact property management on large terrain databases.
- Support for variable constraint compliance, and support for additional constraints involving more than two rigid bodies, to simulate components like differentials and gears.
- A detailed Feature List is available.

Vortex Toolkit Add-Ons
A number of add-on modules are being developed to provide specialized simulation capabilities as enhancements to the Vortex Simulation Toolkit.
- VxVehicle Add-On [available now] offers easy-to-use encapsulation of wheeled- and tracked-vehicle components: chassis, wheels or tracks, suspension and power train. The power train includes engine, transmission, torque converter and differential.

- VxParticles Add-On, now in beta testing, delivers high performance physics-based particle effects for dust, smoke, fire and water, fully integrated with the rigid body dynamics of Vortex.
- VxCable Add-On, under development, will provide new constraints and utilities for simulating cables and winches.
