Vortex Simulation Toolkit
The Vortex Simulation Toolkit is a development platform for
physically accurate modeling of ground vehicles, terrain, soil,
machines, robots, and other real-world objects.
Designed for real-time, interactive simulation, the Vortex
Simulation Toolkit strikes a balance between fidelity and speed. It
has been proven in applications including operator training, product
design and analysis, and path planning for unmanned vehicles.
The Vortex Simulation Toolkit adds accurate physical motion and
realistic interactions with all objects in a scene, creating an
interactive environment with no artificial restrictions on behavior
or interactions.
Vortex 4.0 includes many new features such as:
- Extensions of the VxVehicle API for simulating a much larger variety of
vehicles, including electric drive, multiple tracks, rigid and flexible
tracks, articulated chassis and custom components such as transmissions
- Several industry standard Tire Models now supported
- Bouyancy and drag support
- Ray Cast sensors allow the user to implement sonars and other types of
sensors
- New dynamics solver with multithreading support for faster performance one
multi-core machines
- Improved wheel terrain interaction
- A detailed Feature List is available
