CMLabs announces Vortex for Vega Prime

New software offering will enable integration of realtime physics into Vega Prime applications

April 9, 2002 – Lille, France — At the International Training and Education Conference (ITEC), CMLabs, developers of Vortex, the premier physics engine for interactive simulations, today announced Vortex for Vega Prime, a complete physics-based dynamics extension to Vega Prime, MultiGen-Paradigm’s realtime 3D application development and deployment environment. Vortex for Vega Prime will provide tools that allow developers to quickly and efficiently integrate realtime accurate physics into Vega Prime applications.

Vortex for Vega Prime, based on Vortex by CMLabs, will provide a set of cross-platform libraries specifically designed for realtime rigid-body dynamics and collision detection. Integrated with Vega Prime as an add-on module, it will allow developers to model objects with fundamental properties like mass, inertia, velocity, rotation, friction or gravity. Objects react based on their inherent physical properties, meaning each run of a simulation will deliver unique results. Vortex for Vega Prime accuracy and performance will make it ideal for training and interactive visualization applications.
