CMLabs to Provide Vehicle Dynamics Simulation for FATS,
Inc. Vehicle Trainer
Vortex product to be the basis for delivery of
high fidelity physics to drive motion.
February 23, 2005 – Montreal, Canada — CMLabs
Simulations Inc., the leading supplier of real-time physics-based
simulation software and services has announced the signing of a
major contract with Firearms Training Systems, Inc. (FATS).
FATS has selected CMLabs to deliver a physics-based vehicle
dynamics model of the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle
(HMMWV) or humvee capable of driving a motion-platform based
simulator. The delivery will form a core element of the enhanced
fidelity of the FATS vehicle training solution being delivered to
an international customer.
CMLabs will base the delivery to FATS on Vortex, CMLabs'
commercial, off-the-shelf software product for modeling vehicles,
machines and robots for high-fidelity, real-time
simulations. Based on a rigid-body simulation engine, Vortex can
create accurate driving behaviors within a 3D environment for
real-time applications.
