CMLabs’ high fidelity ground vehicle simulation VORTEX now integrated with eNGENUITY Technologies’ STAGE Scenario software
Vortex-based armored vehicle simulation coupled with eNGENUITY’s STAGE Scenario to be demonstrated at I/ITSEC
December 6, 2004 – Orlando, FL — CMLabs Simulations, Inc. the leading supplier of real-time physics based simulation software and services, delivers software for highfidelity simulation of ground vehicles for training and simulation applications announced a new milestone today with the implementation of Vortex-based vehicles within eNGENUITY Technologies STAGE Scenario simulation product. This new integration demonstrates the capability of Vortex, and enhances the value of STAGE for land-based simulation.
Vortex is a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) development platform for simulating physics-based vehicles, machines and robots for realtime applications. It manages the calculations required to accurately simulate the dynamics and interactive behavior of wheeled or tracked vehicles. Vortex is optimized for demanding applications that require accurate vehicle dynamics, tire-terrain interaction and realistic vehicle response. When deployed in Semi-Automated Forces(SAF)-based applications, Vortex enhances local vehicle behaviors and generates greater realism than has previously been possible.
Vortex facilitates the creation of high-fidelity land-based vehicles and extends the off-the shelf capability of STAGE Scenario to capture a broad range of training and simulation applications. When used in combination, Vortex and STAGE Scenario provide a mix of pre-defined behavior rules and high fidelity vehicle dynamics that is required to generate demanding simulations such as man-in-the loop driver or gunnery training, mission planning and mission rehearsal. The fidelity of Vortex will drive industry expectations toward greater accuracy and realism for ground vehicle simulation.
