Vortex 2.3 release addresses rigors of VIS-SIM industry
New features help
developers build more demanding simulation environments and
accelerate delivery deadlines.
June 7, 2004 – Montreal, Quebec — CMLabs,
developers of Vortex, the most widely used physics engine for the
visualization and simulation community, is pleased to announce the
availability of Vortex 2.3. Vortex is a general-purpose dynamics
engine used to simulate high-fidelity motion models and
interactive behaviors for real-time applications involving ground
vehicles, articulated machinery and robotic equipment.
Vortex continues to gain momentum and has been adopted by more
than 80 industrial, government and educational institutions. This
latest release includes performance upgrades and feature requests
from the quickly expanding customer base.
Vortex 2.3 delivers superior performance while expanding the
feature set required to accurately simulate a range of vehicles
and machinery including armoured vehicles, EOD robots, and general
br / construction equipment. New functionality includes tighter
integration with runtime graphics software, advanced motion
blending and extended dynamics features, all targeted to
br / accelerate simulator delivery cycles. With the latest release,
applications developers are able to simulate ever more demanding
environments with a high degree of physical realism.
Vortex remains the physics solution of choice for high-fidelity
training and visualization applications. “This latest
release emphasizes CMLabs’ commitment to delivering a robust
solution that addresses the rigors of vehicle and machine
simulation for the vis-sim market,” says Robert Weldon, CEO
CMLabs. “By listening to our customers and anticipating
market trends, we are able to deliver a stronger product with each
new release. Version 2.3 is no exception.”
