Version 3 of the Vortex Simulation Toolkit delivers powerful physics for real-time simulation
CMLabs continues to demonstrate responsiveness and innovation to meet growing demand for physics-driven applications
November 14, 2006 – Montreal, Canada — CMLabs Simulations Inc. (www.cm-labs.com), a leader in physics-based simulation, announces the availability of version 3.0 of the Vortex Simulation Toolkit (Vortex). Vortex is a comprehensive development platform for simulating physics-based vehicles, machines and robots for real-time applications. With this latest release, CMLabs brings physics to the forefront of rigorous industrial and government applications that demand fast, accurate and responsive motion and interactivity.

Vortex is a platform for enabling truly interactive simulation based on physics and collision detection. Vortex is optimized for high-fidelity performance with real-time processing and multi-threading support. It is industry-proven with applications in operator training, visualization, virtual reality environments and more.
Version 3.0 continues the evolution of the visual simulation market with expanded graphics integration, including new bundled support for OpenSceneGraph, a user-extensible C++ API, and ongoing expansion of the dynamics and constraint libraries. Version 3.0 represents a step forward for Vortex, and has been designed to make it easier to build more exacting, real-time physics-driven applications.
“Our engineering efforts have been driven by a demand for usability and performance, and we continue to make it easier for our customers to develop rigorous, high fidelity simulations, without having to be an expert in physics”, states Robert Weldon, CEO of CMLabs. “Vortex’s unmatched combination of vehicle capability, fast performance rates and impressive realism put physics at the forefront of visual simulation.”
