CMLabs delivers Vortex-based mobile crane training simulator

OETIO receives first in series of construction equipment simulators based on CMLabs’ Vortex.

September 15, 2005 – Montreal, Canada — CMLabs Simulations Inc., the leading supplier of real-time physics-based simulation software and services has completed the first delivery of a mobile crane simulator the Operating Engineers Training Institute of Ontario (OETIO).

CMLabs’ Vortex physics engine will be the basis for a suite of crane and construction equipment simulators delivered over the next five years.

CMLabs long-standing success in providing physics simulation development toolkits and specialized engineering services was key to the OETIO selecting a Vortex-based solution. The construction equipment training market now has access to high-fidelity, physically realistic simulation at a price point that was not previously achievable.

Founded in 1982, the OETIO is an internationally recognized leader in crane and heavy equipment operator training. The OETIO trains personnel for Ontario’s construction industry and provides quality training materials and processes for crane and heavy equipment operators around the world. About OETIO
Founded in 1982 as a labour/management initiative, the OETIO is now internationally recognized as a first-class training facility for crane and heavy equipment operators. The OETIO’s primary mandate is to provide safety, operator, and maintenance training for Ontario’s construction industry. The OETIO provides courses on mobile, tower, and overhead cranes, a wide variety of heavy earthmoving equipment, truck transport, concrete pumps and industrial lifting equipment.
